Description
The Nicoya Peninsula (Spanish: Península de Nicoya) is a peninsula on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
It is divided into two provinces: Guanacaste Province in the north, and the Puntarenas Province in the south.
It varies from 19 to 37 miles (60 km) wide and is roughly 75 miles (121 km) long, forming the biggest peninsula in the country.
Located at 10°N 85.4166667°W and is known for its beaches and is a popular tourist destination.
Ferries run between the town of Puntarenas on the mainland and the Nicoya Peninsula.
There is an international airport in Liberia and little domestic airstrips in Nosara and Carrillo.
The foremost transport and commercial centre in the region is Nicoya, one of the oldest settlements in Costa Rica.
Shot on location in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
